About the Artist I was born in Varanasi, a city full of rhythm, texture, and quiet stories. Although I did not come from an art background, I have always been drawn to making things with my hands and observing the world around me. That curiosity slowly turned into a deeper creative journey when I joined the Ceramics and Glass Department at Kala Bhavana, Visva Bharati University. My practice moves between ceramics, pottery, glass, and sculpture, each medium teaching me something unique yet connected through transformation. In ceramics, I explore both functional and sculptural forms. I enjoy the physical and emotional connection with clay, its softness, strength, and how it changes through fire. I often prepare my own clay bodies, develop glazes, and experiment with textures to understand what the material wants to express. Working with glass through fusing, slumping, and casting has taught me to balance control with patience. Watching how materials melt, flow, and take shape helps me think differently about form and feeling. Much of my work is inspired by daily life, small details, and the quiet relationships between people, places, and memories. A recent project inspired by Banaras allowed me to weave light, texture, and surface into stories that feel both personal and shared. For me, art is not about perfection. It is about process, patience, and presence. Every piece I create carries a part of where I come from, what I notice, and how I feel. Through my work, I hope to share a sense of calm, curiosity, and connection with others....porta.
