Hello. I am Dr. Kusumlata Sharma. I am a visual artist and professor at Azad College, Bhopal. My artistic journey began in Gwalior, where I completed my Ph.D. in Fine Arts. Over the past few years, I have developed a style called 'Symbolic Abstraction.' I combine traditional Indian miniature painting with modern abstraction to create my artworks in my own unique style. My work is heavily inspired by nature—especially the earth's texture and the unseen forms of nature. You may know me for my series, Srishti or Water Hyacinth. I am honored that my work has been honored with the Madhya Pradesh Government's Raza Award and a Senior Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. I have received over 22 international, national, and state-level awards and attended over 300 art camps and residencies, which have benefited me by exposing me to styles from various fields of art. I've been invited to art camps and residencies in Russia, Europe, Egypt, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Dubai, which is a great privilege.
