Description:
This is a watercolor over graphite on wove paper drawing depicting a seated female figure, possibly a classical or mythological deity or a personification, with historical costume elements. The figure wears an elaborate headdress of red leaves, a blue tunic, a green wrap, and a richly patterned red and gold cloak. She is seated on a stone bench and holds a staff or paddle in her right hand. The style is associated with the Düsseldorf school of painting.
