Created in June 1890 during the final months of the artist's life in Auvers-sur-Oise, France, this oil-on-canvas painting captures a vibrant, open landscape in cool hues of green and blue. The composition is dominated by the field, which takes up two-thirds of the canvas, and is rendered with Van Gogh's signature thick impasto and energetic.
