Engraved during the 18th century, this historic hand-colored print captures a dramatic vantage point of the Siege of Louisbourg in 1758 during the Seven Years' War (French and Indian War). Taken from near the lighthouse on the rocky headland, the scene shows British soldiers and artillery, naval warships filling the harbor, and distant smoke rising near the fortified city.
