Description:
This large-scale oil on panel painting, created around 1470–1480, depicts the panoramic scene of the Crucifixion of Christ in a German Late Gothic style. The composition is highly narrative, combining multiple scenes from Holy Week within a single frame. In the foreground, Christ is crucified between two thieves, while figures including the swooning Virgin Mary and Saint John mourn at the base of the cross.
