This monumental Venetian Renaissance work illustrates the biblical parable of the rich man (traditionally called Dives) and the beggar Lazarus. The scene is set in a magnificent classical courtyard, where Dives and his wealthy companions enjoy a lavish banquet accompanied by musicians playing the lute and viola da gamba.
