Description:
This evocative masterpiece, reminiscent of the dramatic Baroque style of the Dutch Golden Age, captures a poignant moment between the legendary Macedonian king, Alexander the Great, and the Persian princess Roxana. Dressed in meticulously detailed Roman-style plate armor with a golden-fringe pteryx and crowned with a laurel wreath of victory, Alexander is depicted with a softened, almost tender expression.
