This radiant tempera painting on wood, created in 1344, captures the Annunciation — the moment when the Archangel Gabriel announces to the Virgin Mary that she will bear the Son of God. Executed in the Gothic style, the work is characterized by its gold background, intricate patterns, and symbolic detailing. Gabriel, adorned with rich vestments and a laurel crown, approaches Mary with reverence, while the Virgin, seated calmly, receives the divine message with grace. The dove representing the Holy Spirit descends between them, completing the theological narrative.
