Description:

This painting depicts the scene of the Lamentation, where the followers of Jesus mourn over his dead body after the crucifixion. The pale, lifeless body of Christ lies horizontally in the foreground, draped with a white cloth. Several figures surround him, expressing their grief in various ways. To the left, a woman in a dark dress and a red mantle looks down sorrowfully. Behind her, a bearded man in a reddish-brown robe stands with a somber expression. Another figure in a light yellow robe stands nearby, looking towards Christ. Kneeling behind Christ is a figure in a white head covering and a dark garment, tenderly supporting his head. A younger figure kneels beside them, also showing distress.
