Description:

This painting portrays a mythological scene featuring the Roman deities Mars and Venus, accompanied by numerous putti or cupids, set within a verdant landscape. In the left foreground, Venus, a nude female figure, sits on a dark, rugged surface, possibly a rock or tree stump. She is draped in a light blue cloth and looks towards Mars, who is seated beside her. Mars, a muscular male figure, is also partially nude, with a red cloak draped behind him and around his legs. He leans back, resting his arm on Venus's lap, and gazes at her. Behind them, a large reddish-orange drapery hangs.
