Description:

This painting depicts a scene from the New Testament where Christ, having fasted for forty days and forty nights in the wilderness, is ministered to by angels. Christ stands prominently in the center, dressed in a pinkish-red robe and a dark blue mantle. His gaze is directed upwards, suggesting prayer or communion with the divine. A long white table is set before him, laden with food and drink. Several angels, rendered with delicate features and flowing garments in shades of white, blue, and gold, attend to Christ. One angel kneels, presenting a tray with a chalice and bread, while another pours water from a pitcher into a glass. Other angels gather around, some holding baskets of fruit or looking on with reverence.
