Description:

This painting presents a heavenly vision unfolding before Saint Jerome. In the upper portion, the Virgin Mary is seated regally on clouds, bathed in a radiant light that emanates from behind her. She wears a rose-pink garment and a deep blue mantle, and the Christ Child stands on her lap, reaching out towards the figures below. Angels surround them, contributing to the celestial atmosphere. Below, Saint Jerome is depicted as an elderly man with a long white beard, reclining in a state of awe and wonder as he gazes upwards at the apparition. He is partially draped in a vibrant red cloth. Kneeling beside him is Saint John the Baptist, identifiable by his camel-hair tunic and the reed cross he holds, pointing towards the Virgin and Child as if presenting them to Saint Jerome.
