Description:

This altarpiece depicts Saint Anne seated on a throne, with the Virgin Mary in front of her, holding the Christ Child. Saint Anne is shown as an older woman, wearing a reddish-pink mantle over a dark garment and a white head covering. The Virgin Mary, positioned in front, wears a blue mantle and a white veil, and she tenderly supports the infant Jesus, who is nude and holds a small orb. All three figures have golden halos. The throne is flanked by angels on either side. To the left, two angels are dressed in shades of pink and yellow, one holding a censer. To the right, two angels are dressed in red and pink. Above, within the arched top of the painting, there is a depiction of God the Father blessing the scene. The background features a rich gold leaf, typical of the period, which enhances the sacred and timeless quality of the image.
