Description:

The painting presents a dramatic allegorical scene set against a dark, undefined background, characteristic of the Baroque style with its strong use of chiaroscuro. The central figure is a winged, androgynous being, likely representing Sacred Love or Divine Eros. This figure is depicted with pale skin, flowing light brown hair, and large, feathered wings in shades of white and grey. They are positioned dynamically, with one arm raised triumphantly and the other gesturing downwards. They wear a partially draped garment and a quiver of arrows across their back. Their gaze is intense and directed downwards. Beneath the winged figure, on the right side of the composition, lies a partially nude young man, possibly representing Profane Love or Earthly Eros. He reclines with his head resting on his arm, his body draped with a white cloth.
