Description:

The painting depicts the biblical scene of the Adoration of the Magi, though it is in an unfinished state, revealing the underpainting and preparatory sketches. The Virgin Mary is seated on the right, holding the infant Christ on her lap. She is depicted with a serene expression, wearing a purple and blue robe and a light-colored headdress. The Christ Child reaches out towards the Magi with a gesture of blessing. Three figures representing the Magi are positioned on the left, approaching the holy family with gifts. One king, with darker skin, wears a yellow and blue robe and a turban-like head covering. Another king, with fair skin and a blue and green hat, gestures towards Mary and the child.
