Description:

The fresco depicts a formal and significant event taking place within an elaborate architectural setting. A high-ranking religious figure, possibly a Pope or a Bishop, dressed in ornate robes and a mitre, is seated on a raised platform or dais, bestowing a blessing or handing a document to a kneeling figure. This central act is witnessed by a large assembly of people, arranged in orderly rows on benches. The individuals present are dressed in a variety of clothing, including religious habits and what appear to be contemporary Florentine garments of the Renaissance period.
