Description:

This painting, likely from around 1470, depicts a religious procession led by Saint Gregory. The scene features a group of figures, likely clergy and worshippers, moving across a bridge towards a prominent fortified structure, identified as the Castel Sant'Angelo. Saint Gregory, identifiable by his papal tiara and elaborate vestments, is shown prominently on the right. In the procession, a figure carries a standard or cross with an icon. In the background, a winding river and other buildings can be seen, creating a sense of a historical cityscape. The style suggests an early Renaissance or late Gothic period.
